Neutral Caller ID stated RESTRICTED NUMBER. Received a voicemail from Jessica Sanders "filing secretary" from Johnson Smith and Associates 855-935-5463 stating that I needed to contact them so that I can make arrangements for them to deliver legal documents to my address. She then called my brother who answered the phone (whom I have not used as a reference on anything since before 1987) that he was left as an emergency contact with an urgent messages that I need to contact their office. They proceeded to give him all kinds of personal information and tell him that they were filing a civil lawsuit against me and that I was in default. Firstly, if you are a debt collection agency, you have my address if you have my phone number. Second, if you are calling someone that I used as a reference on an account in 1985 (WHILE I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL) to locate me, maybe your data is a bit stale. Lastly, I work in the legal industry - skip tracers call everyone they can find associated with you. My brother would have been WAY DOWN THE LIST since I have 3 grown children and 2 teenagers, my husband, my place of employment, my side businesses, and a list of other references that have been used as contacts for me since way back in 1985. But THANKS!! I haven't talked to my brother in nearly 2 years, it was an odd conversation. Filed a report with the local police department and constable's office just in case someone tries to find me. They both already know me and I left a card. 31.01.2019

Neutral Called me about my delinquent student loans. They are a collection law firm located in Massachusetts. Maybe if i find a job someday that pays me more than $10 an hour i will be able to start paying them back. After getting in debt for $40,000 to pay for school, and now i have an associates degree and can't even get a half way good paying job. I will say this, the mas i spoke to Jason (forgot his last name), was actually polite and not a rude jerk like all the other agencies that try contacting me. i will at least tip my hat to their good customer services skills. I wish everyone else operated this way. 04.02.2019

Neutral PLEASE READ THIS POST........IT MAY HELP YOU!! I got a call from this firm about two weeks ago indicating that they were retained and needed to speak with me. After reading blogs on line, i was not sure that is was legitimate and ignored it. Well, TODAY i just found out that i judgement was issued against me. The court said it was a "default judgement" because i did not show up to the hearing. $3,981. This is such BS....... The credit card was only for $1400. They charged me $2,500 in legal fees. Also, i would have went to the hearing if i didn't read these STUPID FALSE BLOGS..........i wanted to come on here and post this so that people don't get screwed over like i did. I tired calling the Johnson, Smith & Associates as soon as i found out it was legitimate this morning, but since a judgement has been entered, it is to late to settle. i AM SO UPSET, because if i didn't listen to all these people online with their false representation of this Law Office, i wouldn't be in the situation that i'm in 04.02.2019

Neutral Thank you so much for this post. I got a call from the Firm about a week ago, and i didn't call back because of the mixed reviews on line. i received a letter from them Thursday that indicated i was getting sued for Credit Card i had not paid. And then they called me again today. I came back on this Blog and read your post, to i called them. Everything checked out, and they were actually polite and respectful. They gave me some time to get the bill settled, so when i get my tax return i only have to pay back $780 instead of almost $1,400. This goes to show you, don't believe everything you read online. Do your own research. 08.02.2019

Neutral Obvious scammer. Real companies do not work like this, especially a law office. Do not even answer. 12.02.2019

Neutral Your post reads like a plant from the company. The court is obligated to provide notice and proof of service. A vague phone call from a restricted number does not qualify a "proof of service." As another post stated: if they have your current phone number, they have your current address. A legitimate service would send a certified letter to provide evidence to the court that "service" was attempted. 21.02.2019
